Dambo's Whimsical World of Trolls
Something magical is coming to Asheville!
Grab your treasure map and go on an epic troll hunt through the North Carolina Arboretum’s gardens and trails. You’ll meet giant trolls face to face, each with a unique personality, and discover what they’ve been up to!
Dambo's Trolls
This interactive exhibit features twelve enormous trolls lovingly sculpted by renowned Danish artist, Thomas Dambo. Standing at 7 to 9 feet tall, these “baby trolls” were sculpted from reclaimed materials: wooden pallets, fallen branches, and twigs.
The trolls have conducted a study of the unique lifestyles and habits of humans. Visitors will hunt for them along the Arboretum’s beautiful trails and garden. Each one is interactive and through the process, you will learn what the trolls believe makes us human.
Winter Light Show
Six of the trolls will also be featured at the Arboretum’s dazzling Winter Light show from November 15th through January 4th. This festival of lights has become one of Asheville’s most treasured holiday traditions, made even more exciting this year by the playful, friendly trolls!
